Transforming the daily commute

The seamless daily flow of tens of thousands of commuters through London is made smoother with the help of KONE’s solutions and the launch of the new Elizabeth line. After 13 years of work on the Crossrail project, the Elizabeth line has opened, greatly reducing journey times between key stations such as Paddington and Canary Wharf. The Elizabeth line is transforming rail transport in London and the south east, increasing central London rail capacity by 10%. This is reducing congestion on existing underground lines and allowing for more comfortable journey conditions.

Description

Having worked with Transport for London (TfL) since 1988, KONE are proud to have delivered the design, installation of all lifts on the new Elizabeth line, with an ongoing maintenance and refurbishment programme of the lifts. The 53 lifts we have installed between Paddington and Woolwich, which include 4 incline lifts, are specifically designed to meet the needs of each station to ensure smooth people flow through the Elizabeth line stations and the connections to all of the existing underground, mainline and overground stations. This is another step in our commitment to improving the flow of urban life.
